These girls may not be getting the fixed music show awards(SM, YG and JYP buy them all), yet they keep getting recognition awards for their positive portrayal of Korea from the government, from the scouts, from organizations that appreciate what these five ladies bring to the public. The have been named ambassadors for numerous events and always graciously accept the honor no matter how small or large. You won’t see groups like Exid, or Stellar being asked to be ambassadors because they portray themselves as sex kittens, but Crayon Pop has remained true to their image and promote youth and fun through a positive light, not doing Crotch-Pop in short shorts and thigh boots. Keep up the great work ladies, you make us proud.

I agree that Crayon Pop have a really positive wholesome image, but let’s not judge the ‘sexy’ groups too harshly. We’ve seen Crayon Pop interact with those groups in a friendly manner, and I’m pretty sure they respect their peers because they all go through similar struggles as Kpop idols.

Plus, it’s the general population that seems to have an appetite for these sexy concepts and trying to fight against that is going to be an unending battle. Personally, I am not that enthralled by sexy concepts, but, whatever. Live & let live as long as there is no real harm being done.

Crayon Pop receiving recognition for their positive image just makes me respect them more. 팝! 팝! 크레용팝!

The poke wasn’t at the groups themselves, I think groups like Exid and Stellar are very talented. It is a poke at the system in Korea that fanboys prefer the sexy image over the actual the music. Exid’s Up&Down entered the chart with very little fanfare and was barely a top 50 song until a fan-cam of Hani doing groin thrusts went viral months after and the song and video views suddenly shot up. Since then with their last two singles,”Ah Yeah”(Which was basically Up&Down 2.0) and recently “Hot Pink” is basically the same thing with them acting like sex kittens and the song is secondary to them in short shorts acting sexy. Stellar tried to do a more clean image and the song didn’t go anywhere and then their company wanted them to perform in G-strings(they pushed back and compromised on the extremely short shorts) and suddenly “Vibrato” was a hit again.

Crayon Pop has remained true to their image and they have developed what is basically a cult following in Korea. International fans seem to appreciate them then the majority of the Korean KPOP fans. Music has always been secondary to image, money and company stamp. A perfect example right now is “4walls” winning all the music shows and topping all the charts, and in all honesty is probably f(x)’s weakest comeback, but with the rabid SM fans they continue to win.

The fanwars, and voting system in Korea is frustrating and silly. A rookie group like Red Velvet comes from SM and Twice from JYP and get millions of views and shoot up the charts (again, I like these groups, just don;t think instant fame is just, based on company label…RV practically shot up the chart before their single was even released), yet established groups that have amazing vocals and songs like Spica, Sunny Hill and Melody Day have to work 3 times as hard for half the fanbase because they don’t have a big 3 label attached to their name.

I respect Chairman Hwang for not selling out CP to a more trashy(Yet this it what the fanboys in Korea want) image and keeping them true to their course. I also like the fact that he genuinely cares about these ladies and treats them like people and friends and not merchandise.

Sorry for my rant, just wanted to clarify I am not attacking any individual group, but the twisted voting system and silly fanwars in Korea that decide if a group is popular or nit and that the music and work ethic , for the most part, are secondary.I will continue to love and support everything from this wonderful group of ladies^_^
