There may be some confusion among the Crayon Pop fandom to what is considered the official debut date of Crayon Pop. The first mini-album was released on July 18, 2012. However, the date that the Korean music industry usually considers is the first performance stage, which happens to be the one on July 19, 2012 at Mnet’s M! Countdown. With them having performed ‘Saturday Night’ on July 17, 2012 at MBC’s Music Show Champion (and had performed ‘Bing Bing’ on Arirang’s Simply K-Pop on July 10, 2012), it is definitely confusing.
Thankfully, our friends over in Taiwan had made an official inquiry a while ago, and this was the official reply.
Update (28 July 2014: Choa also mentions that 19 July is their debut date)
So it’s not too late to join in the festivities, and to congratulate Crayon Pop on a very wonderful 2 year anniversary. The Twitter hashtag that the fandom has been using is #2YearsWithCrayonPop, so remember to tweet them with the following format.
@crayonpop #2YearsWithCrayonPop #CrayonPop2ndAnniversary”
We here at CrayonPop.me had kickstarted the festivities and released the English subs to the latest CPTV episode. We hope you will enjoy it!
Korean fans have also played their part by airing a congratulatory message on a big billboard in Korea.
Our affiliates have also created congratulatory videos. Check them out!
Regarding our 2nd anniversary project, we will report more on it in time to come. Stay tuned!
